Argentina renames its training facility after Lionel Messi.

Argentina‘s training centre will be named after Lionel Messi, according to the head of the Argentine Football Association, Chiqui Tapia.

Chiqui announced via his official Twitter account that the once-known ” Casa de Ezeiza” had been renamed “Lionel Andres Messi.”

“We had a historic day in our Casa de Ezeiza, which will now be renamed Lionel Andrés Messi in honour of the world’s best player.”

“I’d like to thank all of the managers, players, and employees of @afa for once again being with us,” he said. The tweet continues…

This comes after Messi celebrated his 800th career goal with a last-ditch free-kick in Argentina’s 2-0 win over Panama on Friday.

The PSG star was instrumental in Argentina’s success at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, scoring seven goals and providing three assists, including a brace in the final.
