Troops raid six Boko Haram camps in Sambisa forest, killing a large number of terrorists

The Nigerian troops of ‘Operation Hadin Kai’ North East have reportedly killed an unconfirmed number of Boko Haram members after raiding six (6) terrorist camps on the outskirts of Sambisa Forest in Borno state.

On March 25, 2023, the terrorists were killed after a crushing incursion into their enclaves by troops from 21 Task Force Brigade Bama, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).

According to Zagazola Makama, a Counter-Insurgency Expert in Lake Chad, with additional information from other security sources, “the troops successfully cleared the terrorists hideouts in Bula Agaida, Bula Yaga, Bula Lambai, Kuluri, Bula Umar, and New Church in Bama Local Government Area of Borno state.”

Bama is located about 70 kilometres from Maiduguri and in the heart of the Sambisa Forests.

According to sources, the troops discovered and destroyed a large Boko Haram camp between Bula Agaida and Bula Yaga during the raid. In addition, the troops discovered and destroyed the terrorists’ local market.

It was also learned that during the fighting patrol to clear the general areas, the troops came across some terrorists, killed them, and recovered a Toyota Hilux gun truck.
