2023: APC leader sides with Obi over Tinubu

FastNews reports that SKC Ogbonnia, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and a candidate for president in 2019, has abandoned Bola Tinubu in favor of Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party.
Ogbonnia claimed that his decision to choose Obi was motivated by patriotism.
He recently provided NewsReport with a statement outlining his position.
“Even though I am still a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), I cannot back Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu for president in the 2023 elections.
“The decision to endorse the candidate of an opposition party did not come easy. But there comes a time to say: enough is enough,” Ogbonnia said.
He added: “Everything about the man (Tinubu) is shady—from his name, state of origin, the schools attended, certificates received; his record in America to his true source of income, let alone any true intention of seeking the presidency, apart from an arrogant claim that it is his turn to rule Nigeria.
