POLICE PRESS RELEASE NO.40/2020 KATSINA POLICE COMMAND DIARY-

BUSTING OF NOTORIOUS SYNDICATE OF FRAUDSTERS PERSONATING KATSINA EMIRATE COUNCIL: The Katsina state Police Command wishes to draw the attention of the general public especially the very important personalities (V.I.P) to the presence of some unscrupulous persons, going round sending text messages, introducing themselves as senior counselors of the Katsina emirate council, thereby requesting them to send money as financial assistance to the emirate on behalf of the Emir of Katsina. Subsequently, on 06/07/2020 at about 15:00hrs, based on a tip off, the Command succeeded in smashing a notorious syndicate of fraudsters that specializes in defrauding unsuspecting members of the public through text messages under the guise of being senior counselors of the Katsina emirate council. Nemesis caught up with the duo of 1. Kabir Mohd Muktar, ‘m’, aged 42yrs of Piyanku, Opposite FMC Staff Quarters, Nasarawa state and 2. Abdulrahaman Sadiq, ‘m’, 45yrs of Sabon Gari Quarters, Ingawa Katsina state, who conspired and defrauded one Alhaji Bello Maigari, the Executive Secretary, National Lottery Trust Fund, of the sum of two hundred thousand naira (N200,000:00K) and Senator Abubukar Yusuf Abubakar, the sum of thirty thousand naira (N30,000:00) personating the Secretary to the Emirate Council, Alh. Bello Mamman Ifo, Sallaman Katsina on the pretext of soliciting financial assistance that the Emirate will give out some female Orphans in marriage. The hoodlums also sent the same text messages to the following very important personalities (V.I.Ps) asking them to pay into their bank account various amounts of money.
