Bagudu dissolves the chairmen and councilors of 21 local councils in Kebbi.
FastNews reports that Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu, governor of Kebbi state, dissolved the chairmen and councilors of the state’s 21 local governments on Thursday.
The governor issued the dissolution in a press release made available to journalists in Birnin Kebbi after hosting the outgoing chairmen at the government house in Birnin Kebbi.
Earlier in his speech, he thanked them for tirelessly serving the state during the time they were elected, saying, “I thank you most profoundly for your selfless services to the state,” though no mention was made of who they would hand over to.
It will be recalled that their tenure in office officially terminates on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Similarly, the state independent electoral commission in Kebbi state has slated February 5th, 2021 for local council polls across the 21 local governments in Kebbi state.
