The local currency began trading on the parallelmarket, also known as the black market, in Lagos, Nigeria, today, Thursday, October 14, 2021, at N575.00 per $1, after closing at N575.00 per $1 on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

This is a $0 difference from the day before. This means that the dollar-to-naira exchange rate hasn’t changed from the previous day.

The dollar to naira exchange rate has remained constant at N570-575 per $1 since Monday, October 11.

Despite the fact that the dollar to naira exchange rate started in the parallel market at 575 for $1 today, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not acknowledge the parallel market, popularly known as the black market.

As a result, the central bank has advised anyone in need of cash to contact their bank, emphasizing that the I&E window is the only known exchange.
