Fastnews Nigeria reports that a woman has made a move to get what belongs to her.

A 38-year old woman, Mrs. Ruka Tayo, appeared to have lost out in the game after she reportedly divorced her husband for five years, waited in vain for him to bring her back but the man went ahead and got married to another woman in Lagos.

This news online reports that Mrs. Tayo went to reclaim her estranged husband from the new wife and allegedly conspired with another lady, Jimoh Abiola, to attack the new wife, Adeyemi Morenikeji, and injured her in the process.

The alleged assault was reported to the Police; they were arrested and subsequently charged before the Ikorodu Magistrates Court, where they were ordered remanded in Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town in Lagos.

The Prosecutor, ASP Gbemileke Agoi, told the Court that the defendants committed the offences on 26th February, 2021, at about 4p.m at Road 7, Mowowole Estate, Oreta Igbogbo area of Ikorodu, Lagos, where the estranged husband resides.

ASP Agoi alleged that the defendants conspired and beat up the complainant, Mrs. Adeyemi Morenikeji, at her husband’s residence because she got married to the former husband of one of the defendants. He said it happened five years after one of the defendants had left the house following their divorce.

He told the Court that the alleged offences contravened the provisions of Sections 412 and 172 of Criminal Law of Lagos, 2015.

The defendants pleaded not guilty on the two count charge preferred against them.

The Magistrate, Mrs. R. A. Onilogbo, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.

However, they were remanded in custody pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned till 31st March, 2021, for mention.
