Adebutu: Insecurity Isn’t Enough to Split Nigeria
FastNews reports that Hon. Oladidupo Adebutu, a former member of the House of Representatives in Ogun State, has stated that “the security challenges confronting Nigeria at this time should not be used as an avenue to divide the nation along ethnic lines.”
Adebutu, on the other hand, urged people to be security conscious, not to engage in activities that could cause havoc, especially during this festive season.
In his Christmas message on Saturday, the businessman urged all Nigerians to embrace the virtues of peaceful coexistence and refrain from fanning the embers of disunity.
Nigeria, he believes, can only make the desired progress by living peacefully as a nation at a steady pace.
“I urge you to continue in this spirit of love because it is only by living in peaceful and harmonious co-existence that we are truly celebrating the essence of Christmas,” he said.
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain maintained that “there is no better way to celebrate this season than by showing love and being our brother’s keeper.”
He enjoined Nigerians to always engage in activities that could unite the nation, asking them to desist from any act that could cause disintegration.
